Are you one of those people who believe that Rock ‘n Roll died at the end of the ‘60s or maybe that the glory of all that is and was music burnt out with the stardom of Guns ‘n Roses. Is your favorite karaoke song Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” or your favorite album ABBA self-titled. Well if you fall under any of the above categories than it is very likely that you would appreciate the opportunity to relive any or all of the above categories with a television which shows both old and new bands at their finest with live on stage performances in a variety of different settings and locations. Standard music channels such as VHI and MTV have changed their formats to show a little music and a lot of junk reality tv. However with an upgrade from the standard network or cable television you can turn your living room into powerful venue of rock, jazz, blues, hip hop and so on only by upgrading your channels with satellite tv.
Satellite tv has all of the same standard television programming you’ve grown used to since those glory days when you watched White Snake videos until the early morning, but it also takes advantage of the new technology available by providing high quality live music events of all different types. For example with satellite tv you can get access to exclusive television programming like the 101 Network. A network of exclusive live events, classic dramas, and comedies, the 101 Network has a unique concert series. Each month the concert series combines acts from different generations, styles of music and large concerts. You may not have been able to make it to South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas this year, but you can tune on your television and see rock group Third Eye Blind’s live performance in 2009.
If the music all the kids are listening to today doesn’t appeal to you, you can also tune in to the 101 Network to see performances from legendary old bands as well. This month super group Rush performs all their classics and some of their new songs during a performance of their Snakes and Arrow tour. The Pretenders also showcase their old stuff during the month.
Regardless of whether you like old or new with the 101 Network Concert Series you can get all types of music. Another benefit besides simply great artists is event coverage of great concerts. Last month showcased groups Wilco and Jason Mraz and Friends playing at Farm Aid 2009, and had some old performances of the March festival of South by Southwest from the year prior. With such large quantities of great music it makes it hard to leave your living room or turn off the satellite tv, and with non-stop live music you are sure to feel the same youthful energy you had when you decided to skip out of town for the big Van Halen concert.
