Pin Midi Cable
December 14th, 2010Problem with Sound on DA-15 midi port?
Q: Hi,
I’ve got a Roland D-5 keyport plugged into the DA-15 port of the PC (with 5 pin DIN into the keyboard). I am using windows XP. The problem I am having is if the cable is plugged into the computer when I switch the computer on (or restart it) I am losing all sound. I have to unplug the DA-15 cable before starting the computer — then it works fine. But it is inconvenient and tricky to reach behind the computer to remove the cable every time I start the computer. Is there a way to solve/get around this problem? Thanks for any advice.
A: You might try to turn the power off your keyboard during the computers boot. Another solution would be to get a DA-15 Cable extension so that you can unplug the keyboard cable at the extension.
